ANAHEIM, California (Ticker) - The Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday signed defenseman Francois Beauchemin to a two-year contract extension through the 2008-09 season.

The Anaheim Ducks signed center Travis Green to a one-year contract on Thursday. The 14-year NHL veteran, who was with the Ducks in the late 1990s, played in 82 games for Boston last season, one of only two Bruins who did not miss a game. He had 10 goals and 12 assists. The 6-foot-2, 200-pounder came to the Ducks in February of 1998 and was with them for the entire 1998-99 season.

Left wing Chris Kunitz signed a two-year contract with the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday. He set club rookie records last season for goals (19), assists (22), and shots (149) while appearing in 67 games for Anaheim. The 26-year-old Kunitz added three goals and five assists in Anaheim's 16 postseason games.

The home of the NHL's Anaheim Ducks is getting a new name. Arrowhead Pond will become Honda Center in October, the first name change in the arena's 13-year history. Arrowhead Water's naming rights agreement expires in September. The deal was announced Wednesday, with the arena's management company saying more details would be provided in October.

ANAHEIM, California (Ticker) - The Anaheim Ducks locked up one of their top offensive players Wednesday, re-signing center Andy McDonald to a three-year contract.

Andy McDonald, who led the Anaheim Ducks in assists and game-winning goals last season, signed a three-year contract on Wednesday to stay with the team. The 28-year-old center played in all 82 regular-season games for the Ducks, finishing tied for 20th in the NHL with a career-high 85 points. He also reached personal bests with 34 goals and 51 assists, and scored seven winning goals.

CALGARY, Alberta (Ticker) - Less than two weeks after acquiring Alex Tanguay from the Colorado Avalanche, the Calgary Flames signed the left wing on Wednesday.

EDMONTON, Alberta (Ticker) - Chris Pronger got his wish.

Star defenseman Chris Pronger was traded by the Edmonton Oilers to the Anaheim Ducks on Monday for right wing Joffrey Lupul, defenseman Ladislav Smid and three draft picks. Pronger, the 2000 NHL MVP with St. Louis, led the Oilers to the Stanley Cup finals last month. They fell just short of a championship, losing Game 7 to the Carolina Hurricanes.
